10 new stops with "Pet Care on the Go" yellow first-aid kits

MOL Polska joins  #ZNapędemNa4Łapy

Heading to the seaside, the mountains or away for a weekend with your dog? Or maybe your cat is one of those who happily hops into the car with the rest of the family?

We have some good news. The #ZNapędemNa4Łapy map has just gained 10 new locations where you can find a yellow first-aid kit while travelling.

MOL Polska is joining the project, with “Pet Care on the Go” first-aid kits being introduced at 10 MOL stations as part of a pilot programme.

This means that when you stop to refuel, grab a coffee or give those paws a much-needed stretch, you will also find basic first-aid supplies that may come in handy if something unexpected happens along the way.

We travel with them more often than you might think

To mark the launch of the pilot, MOL Polska carried out a nationwide survey exploring the needs of drivers who travel with pets.

The results show that 56% of respondents travel with a dog or cat at least once a month, while 75% stop at a service station during their journey with their pet’s needs in mind.

In other words, exactly what every dog parent knows: coffee for us, water for the dog, a few minutes for a walk – and then back on the road. 😉

But there was another result that particularly caught our attention. When asked which pet-friendly facilities they would like to see at service stations, respondents ranked access to fresh water first – 72%. And right behind it? A public-access first-aid kit – 44.9%.

And it is easy to see why.

What if something happens along the way? A cut paw during a stop. A minor injury. A tick spotted halfway through the journey. Not every situation is a serious emergency, but any one of them can quickly turn a peaceful trip upside down.

That is why the yellow first-aid kits are there along the route – so that, when needed, basic supplies are available to help secure and protect your pet before you reach a veterinarian.

If you often travel with your pet, it is still worth carrying your own first-aid kit in the car, backpack or luggage. A public-access kit provides an additional layer of support – particularly when you do not have your own kit to hand or something inside it has run out.

Interestingly, only around 40% of participants in the MOL Polska survey said they felt prepared to provide first aid to their dog or cat.

So before your next journey, it is worth asking yourself three simple questions:

Do I have a first-aid kit? Do I know what is inside it? Would I know how to react and help my four-legged companion if something happened along the way?
