Your new four-legged roommate has settled in, the initial excitement has eased a little, and everyday life is beginning. And with it comes a question: is it time for training? And is the pet really the only one who needs to learn?
“Sit”, “stay”, “come”… Is that really what training is all about?
In this episode, together with Jola Jurkiewicz-Azab, we talk about learning how to live together. About building good habits, setting boundaries, being patient — and recognising that adoption changes more than just the animal. We also need to learn how to understand our new companion’s behaviour, needs, and ways of communicating with us.
We also explore when we can manage on our own and when it might be a good idea to seek support from someone who can help us better understand our four-legged roommate.
Because it may turn out that when the dog goes to school, the guardian should probably pack a backpack too. 😉
